About Ché

Who is Ché?

I am a Highly Sensitive Man and clinical hypnotist {and yes, Ché is my real given name!}. I am an introvert who has a history of getting involved in a lot of extroverted situations. I am a high sensation seeking HSP. I am a hypnotist and coach to highly sensitive people.

What is hypnosis exactly?

Hypnosis is best described as a consensual, calm state of mind in which our {often self-}critical thoughts and habits of limiting thinking are relaxed. You know that critical voice in the back of your head that questions what you aspire to, the wisdom of what you said, or replays scenes in your head where you think you goofed up or could have done better? Hypnosis is the gentle way to completely silence that little devil. Our ability to pay attention in a highly focused way is enhanced, and within an appropriate context, that increased ability to focus can allow a more direct experience and alignment with the subconscious mind. Hypnosis is a restorative and extremely relaxing state.

The intentional use of hypnosis as a healing state is very very old. We have anecdotal stories of hypnosis being used for improvement of self or others going back to ancient egypt’s ‘sleep temples’. As a modern scientific study, inquiry into the benefits of hypnosis date back to the late 1700s.

Everyone experiences hypnosis, and usually daily! If you’ve ever been driving and realized you’ve been lost in thoughts and drove to a familiar place on ‘automatic’… that’s hypnosis! It’s such a universal and common experience of hypnosis that’s it’s technically referred to as ‘highway hypnosis’.

What is clinical hypnosis?

Self hypnosis is a skill all my clients learn. It is a tremendously useful skill to be able to access that natural state intentionally {in fact, you’ll probably find yourself teaching people close to you the skills too just out of kindness!}.

The subconscious mind is the root of our person. This is where our truest self is directly accessible, PLUS all of the ideas about what life is, how it works, what our limits might be, our inner wisdom, and all of our programming reside. Working with me, clinical hypnosis is the process of intentionally using the state of hypnosis with your skilled and sensitive hypnotist to get in contact with what that deeper programming and true self is. It’s felt in the body and experienced in deep recesses of the mind that we just can’t get without the extra-enhanced internal focus hypnosis brings.

Once you’re in touch with those deeper subconscious ideas, programming, and wisdom, you become the ‘programmer’, rather than just reacting and being driven by your programming. You take control of what your thoughts and emotional processes are, change what doesn’t fit, and reinforce what does. Clinical hypnosis is the gentle but amazingly powerful {interesting how those two always go together} way to tap into your deepest self and express it in a powerful and sensitive way.

Sounds powerful! Could you tell me more about your background?

I trained at the Hypnotherapy Academy of America, an internationally-renowned institution in Santa Fe, NM. I am a currently a student of Psychology in NYC working towards becoming a licensed psychotherapist.

I have over 500 hours of training in hypnosis. My training includes a ‘master class’ in which I studied under the late and great Gil Boyne, one of the most prominent hypnotists in the world for over 55 years {he even penned the official description of the hypnotist occupation on the books with the Department of Labor!}.

I have spoken at many dozens of conferences, seminars, and workshops. As a side note, one interesting pattern I’ve noticed is that the best speakers are usually highly sensitive people. The tendency towards deep thought, thorough analysis and the ability to notice subtle connections between ideas makes for an excellent speaker, once we’ve learned how to be comfortable with all the additional stimulation of being up on a stage… {and don’t mob us after we get off the stage, please!}

I have taught several hypnosis workshops, and have booked over 100 hours as a practical skills coach and advanced-skills teacher for other hypnotists.
